Beauty With Lemons & Apples

Two wholesome, everyday ingredients from your kitchen can come together to help keep your skin looking and feeling fantastic.

Lemons provide:

  • Vitamin C & other antioxidants, which have been linked to reducing the signs of premature aging;
  • Astringent qualities to decrease oil and reduce inflammation;
  • Antifungal properties.

Apples provide:

  • Vitamin E for hydration and soft, smooth skin;
  • Vitamin C;
  • Other nutrients.

Here are a few ways you can use both in your natural DIY skincare regimen.

Apple, Lemon & Yogourt Cleansing Cream

1/4 apple, peeled & cored
2 tablespoons Greek yogourt
1 teaspoon raw honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon coconut oil

  • Add all the ingredients to a blender and pulse until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Apply to your face in circular motions, massaging it into your skin for about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Rinse thoroughly with warm water, and follow with your favorite moisturizer.

Moisturizing Mask

1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon honey
1 apple slice, peeled & cored
1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • Purée the apple slice in a blender.
  • Beat the egg yolk, gradually adding the remaining ingredients, including the apple puree.
  • Apply to your face and neckline, and leave in place for about 20 minutes.
  • Rinse off with warm water.

Apple Lemon Milk Moisturizing Mask

1 apple, peeled & cored
1 lemon, zest only
3 tablespoons powdered milk

  • Cut the apple into chunks, and purée in a food processor.
  • Add the lemon zest and powdered milk, and pulse until the mixture is smooth.
  • Apply to your face and neck, and leave in place for about 15 minutes.
  • Rinse off with warm water.
